• Choice of background song “Woke up this morning” by Alabama 3 – shows the theme of action and crime as the song has constant references to guns and murder. Also the choice of this band shows us as an audience that this film is set in America.
• The quotations from the Mafia trilogy The Godfather, by one of the characters and his choice of clothing of a designer (probably Italian) suit – raises and suggests ideas of links to the Mafia.
• These ideas are backed up as one of the characters refers to himself as the “boss” and also the respect shown to this character by everyone, especially at public events like funerals and weddings
• The constant use of guns used to threaten/ intimidate and murder people show and back up the suggested themes of action and crime
• The final song (in the trailer) sung in Italian by the character referred to as the “boss”, shows these people/ this family is from an Italian background and therefore suggests further links to the Mafia
